My favorite game in high school and college was Balderdash, the game where you have to make up fake definitions for real words and try to get people to vote for your definition as the “real” one. The problem with the game is that when you play with an entire group of funny and creative people, it’s IMMEDIATELY evident which definition is the real one. So we changed the rules. When playing 'Dash, you are just supposed to be funny, creative, silly, stupid, offensive…whatever. The person who is the “reader” for the round, who has the real definition, has to include the real definition verbatim, but can add before and/or after the definition. And you vote simply on which definition you like the most - it becomes a game simply celebrating creativity.
Flash Dash works the exact same way – and it will feature 10 of the best ‘Dashers with whom I’ve ever had the pleasure of playing. When you vote each week, you just vote for the one you like best. ‘Dash will be happening once a week for the year on Wednesdays with voting being closed out on Monday nights. You get points for every vote you receive, and voters can vote once a day. Once a 'Dasher reaches 100 points, they begin to count back down until they get to zero, at which point they go back up. At the end of the year, the person closest to 42 will be declared the winner and will receive a very special prize indeed.
But voting isn't the only way to be involved with Flash Dash. Every week, we will feature a "guest" 'Dasher, who will get to write in a definition and be a part of the 'Dash experience, and their votes will be tallied as part of a special "guest" piece! If you would like to be put on a list for being a "guest" 'Dasher, fill out this form with your email and, if randomly picked, you will be sent info on how to be a part of the game.
